               May dalawang babaing magkakaibigan na sina Roxan Puerto & Mary Jane Nocquira. Si Nocquira ay may nobyo at nabuntis ito sa nobyo at iniwan. Ipinanganak na ni Nocquira ang kanyang anak at tumawag siya sa kanyang kaibigan at nakipagkita. Nagkita sila sa isang restaurant at sinabi ni Nocquira na ihabilin niya ang kanyang anak kay Puerto kasi pupunta siya sa ibang bansa. Si Puerto ay asawa ni April John Cajetas at kilalang pamilya at isang mayamang angkan. Pumayag si Puerto na ihabilin sa kanya ang anak ni Nocquira at nagpromise siya na aalagaan niya ang bata. Lumipas ang labing limang taon at malaki na si Rona na anak ni Nocquira. Lumaki na kulang sa pagmamahal at pag-aalaga sa ina si Rona. Lumaki siya sa poder ng kanyang ina inahan na kaibigan ng kanyang totoong ina. Lumaki siya na walang araw na hindi umiiyak kasi laging sinasaktan ng kanyang ina inahan at mga kinakapatid.
